Rob Rains is the Sports Editor of the new Globe-Democrat.com. He is an
award-winning journalist who has published more than 25 books. He started as a
reporter for United Press International (UPI) and then covered the St. Louis Cardinals
for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, eventually moving to USA Today and USA Today
Baseball Weekly. He was awarded the Freedom Forum Grant to teach Journalism for
one year at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State, and for the
past 12 years he has been writing books, magazine articles and doing radio, and is
thrilled to be back in the daily newspaper business. He is a graduate of the University
of Kansas with a BS in Journalism.

Sally Tippett Rains, who has had 12 books published got her start as a sports
reporter at KMOX/CBS Radio in St. Louis where she worked as a writer for Bob
Costas. Her book
The Making Of A Masterpiece, The True Story of Margaret
Mitchell's Classic Novel Gone With The Wind
is being made into a television
documentary. Sally attended the University of Missouri- Colunbia eventually
transferring to Webster University where she got her degree in Media/ Journalism.
She has served on several national committees including the Missouri Society in
Washington, D.C. where she headed upthe state of Missouri's involvement in the
National Cherry Blossom Festival and put on a a reception in the US Capitol with two
congressmen in attendance.

B.J. Rains is the On-line multi-media producer for the new Globe-Democrat.com.. To

covered the Cardinals for major league baseball and previously covered the
University of Kansas athletics for the Associated Press (AP). He has written for the
Lawrence Journal World and the University Daily Kansan. In January 2009 he
traveled to Phoenix, AZ where he covered the Jayhawks' appearance in the Insight
Bowl. He graduated with a Journalism degree from KU in Dec. 2008.

Mike Rains is a pursuing his degree in Sports Management at Fontbonne
University. He bowls in the anchor position for the Fontbonne bowling team
(NCAA). For the past five years he has worked for Orlando's Catering as a banquet
worker.
