Rob Rains and Sally Tippett Rains are a husband-wife writing team who are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary this year. Rob is working on his 25th book and Sally her 11th. They write separately or together depending on the project. Included on this website are BJ Rains, Associated Press (AP) correspondent and Mike Rains, collegiate basketball manager.
Sally and Rob enjoy speaking to groups. They especially enjoy speaking to school groups, teaching students in a fun way how writing in school is the same as writing a book. Included in those talks: read more, write more, and make good choices in all you do. School speech title is: "You Are A Star" and contains the 5 "Points" of the Writing Process.
Rob Rains is available for talks on sports with his area of expertise being baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals and collegiate basketball Sally Tippett Rains speaks to women's groups on adding fun to your life, using her motivational book "Get Going Girl" as a basis.
The Rainses work with families of children with cancer through the charity their family started, Rainbows For Kids.
Gone With The Wind author, Margaret Mitchell always maintained her characters were all made up, but this book introduces the people who inspired Gone With The Wind. It also gives a behind-the scenes look at the movie production with insights from producer David O. Selznick's executive assistant, Marcella Rabwin through personal tapes and writings saved by her sons Mark and Paul Rabwin.
